This is the only time in my life I have seen something like this. I live on the ocean front and often sit viewing the night sky. I have seen very distant light streaks which I assumed were distant meteors but this seemed incredibly close. There seemed to be no time lag between seeing and hearing. It is the only time I have heard a meteor. I have been casually observing the night sky for more than 60 years.
